First Word

The class Sri Lankan cricketers have shown after going through the horrifying experience of being attacked in Lahore has earned them the respect of many Pakistani cricket fans. We are very sorry that they had to endure this experience on Pakistani soil, especially when they were gracious enough to visit Pakistan after a number of other teams had declined to do so. We were very grateful for their visit and are extremely perturbed that this tour of friendship ended in such harrowing circumstances. We don't have strong enough words to condemn this cowardly and unjustified act towards our guests and our friends.

The friendship they showed in agreeing to tour Pakistan, the excellent on the field as well as off the field behaviour and the graciousness, kindness and class they showed while leaving Pakistan after the attack has prompted us - Pakistani cricket fans - to respond in kind through this medium. To us, the Sri Lankan Cricket team has become a second home team. Our best wishes to you in all your future cricketing ventures. We will be following your exploits as if you are our team.
